Kick Start 2013

If you want something you've never had, then you've got to do something you've never done.
................................................................................................

These words have been whooshing around my head over the past few week. The web is a glow with so many bright radiant souls making big, and I mean BIG intentions for 2013. Seriously, I'm getting high on inspiration just reading some of these blogs. Check them out here, here, here and here!

Last year I had my Intentions list made very early on, and I suppose the following months were about finding, with razor sharp clarity, a direction I wanted to go in. In 2012 I really lay the foundations on a lot of things. I removed some blocks (most of them being emotional) and it really was a journey to discover 'Who am I really'. I flexed and stretched and pushed myself way beyond my comfort zone;  I threw down some truth bombs and relinquished a lot of fears. Last year was like a soul detox - removing all the yucky toxins which were weighing me down and holding me back. My perception of things changed and miracles were born.

2013 stretches before me like a clean slate and a bit of a do-over. This is the year where I get to turn the notch on my positivity meter right up and become a manifesting maven. My belief system is fuelled up and I know that this year will be filled with so many incredible moments. Some will be life changing, and there will be a couple of firsts but in a nutshell, I'm BEYOND excited to get creating.

That's what I've been doing over the first week of 2013. Creating + Doing.

Normally this time of the year would be my planning stage, but as I said the opening quote has been doing the can-can in my brain all week. This year I'm changing things up a little. I've still got a very clear vision for this year and I'll be delighted to share with you soon, but in the meantime I'm prepping. I'm making seriously HOT to-do lists like they're going out of fashion. The focus and goal of this week is to get sh*t done.

I used to be one of those 'all talk' girls... the dreamer if you please. I can dream and get creative like noone's business, but when it comes to implementing things well...(tumble weeds blow through here)

The problem was a lot of my dreams just used to seem too big; way out of my comfort zone and just a touch too insane. Once I started telling myself that things weren't possible the inspired idea would disappear and that would be the closing chapter.

To kick start the new year I'm taking action to turn those big ol'dreams into a reality. And you can do the same... Read on gorgeous soul.

What we want is very unique to us. Only we know what we desire on a deep level. Even if we meet someone who has a similar interest, they'll never want something exactly the same way as we would want it. So that checks off - jobs, blogs, men, hairstyles, boob size, cars and everything thing else in between. The amazing thing about this reality is that whatever we really, really want we can have because no one wants it! This freedom creates a mindset of abundance.  And this mindset kicks starts the belief system.

Once we decide on what is it that we really want for ourselves, it will always remain a dream or an ambition until we start DOING.

You can create any life you want for yourself but you must wholly participate in it's creation.

You are the co-creator of your life. The Universe can't do it alone, but when you actively tell the Universe what you want through your thoughts, feelings and actions then my darling BIG things are going to happen.

I procrastinated for years because I could never figure out how I would get to the end result. I just couldn't in my mind figure out how I could make it all happen. It overwhelmed me and the fear took over.

Looking back, what I did know was how to do was take the first step. This is something that we all can do.

Over the past week my goal has been to take small meaningful steps to help create my bigger reality. I've made phone calls, sent emails, had meaningful conversations; I've written more, filled in paperwork, followed a plan and achieved. Within one week I am leaps and bounds ahead of where I was on January 1st.

Take the first step. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step
~ Martin Luther King Jr.

This week, vision board or no vision board, your goal this week is to take one step towards what you want to achieve this year. Taking action fuels enthusiasm. The steps you take this week are not about perfection, but progress steps, and I have every faith that you can a achieve one meaning step in the direction of your dreams.

................................................................................................

So sweet potato, what action steps are you taking this week to create your dreams in 2013?

  1. I LOVE this post! Especially "You can create any life you want for yourself but you must wholly participate in it's creation." That is SO true! We really can create anything, but it won't turn out if you give yourself over to the creative process! It's only the second week of 2013, but I, too, am feeling a bigger push to create more - not just make lists, but actually check thinks off of it! It's an amazing feeling :)

    Excellent post <3

  3. Gorgeous post Jenn! I've been a bit like you in the past, enormous to-do lists, constantly dreaming but never actioning anything. Last year I really turned things around and now live by the motto 'Live now, procrastinate later'. This has really made a huge difference and you're so right, taking the first step is the key to getting things done. This week I've hired a web designer to design my blog - technology is not my strong point so I decided to outsource it and get someone in the know to do it. This is a huge progress step for me, one step at a time. Really looking forward to seeing you achieve all your dreams this year, exciting times ahead! xxx

    1. Yeay! I'm not alone with my endless to-do lists! hahaha Thanks Amy! I love your motto - Live now, Procrastinate Later - this seriously needs to go on a post-it and stuck somewhere where I can see it daily! I also love the idea of outsourcing. You mentioned it in your email and I had a bit of an a-ha moment. When we're creating it's also important to realise that we can't do it all alone, and we don't have to either. We're always supported in our actions and sometimes the Universe sends us a helping hand in the disguise of another person. As I develop Positivity Pimp I will DEFINITELY be recruiting a web designer. I couldn't put myself through that again! Can't wait to see your blog grow and develop xxx

  4. This post was over-the-top brilliant! It was excellent what I needed right now! The idea that no one else wants what we want was perfect. There is so much competition and comparison. Freeing myself of that and taking on this more abundant perspective is just what I need. Thanks so much!
